How are NTMPI node rewards taxed?

NTMPI node rewards (Synaptron, Guardian, Collector, GeoCore) are treated as ordinary income at fair market value when received, per IRS Notice 2014-21. Ledger Timpi automatically classifies these from on-chain transaction memos.

What cost basis methods does Ledger Timpi support?

Ledger Timpi supports FIFO (First In First Out, IRS default), LIFO (Last In First Out), HIFO (Highest In First Out, minimizes gains), and Average Cost. Per-wallet tracking is required starting 2025 (Rev. Proc. 2024-28).

Are transfers between my own wallets taxable?

No. Self-transfers between your own Neutaro wallets are not taxable events. Ledger Timpi automatically detects round-trip transfers and provides an Address Book to tag your other wallets, excluding them from Form 8949.

Does Ledger Timpi require an API key?

No. Ledger Timpi fetches all transaction data directly from the public Neutaro REST API. Just enter your wallet address and click Fetch. No account, API key, or signup required.

How is NTMPI staking APY taxed?

Staking rewards are ordinary income at fair market value when received, per IRS Revenue Ruling 2023-14. Ledger Timpi tracks delegation rewards separately and includes them in your taxable income calculation.
